Escape Arts receives £396344 Reaching Communities Big Lottery Funding for 5 year Odyssey Project!!!
The
Escape Odyssey project will support exciting youth and community and
volunteering work in Stratford and Nuneaton and across Warwickshire. The
Odyssey project advocates local youth leadership to develop community projects
that transform spaces into vibrant community settings running a range of
exciting arts, media and volunteering and play programmes. The project
will commission a purpose built Odyssey multi-media bus which will enable the
innovative work to be delivered across Warwickshire reaching out to communities
most in need.
Escape is delighted to have been awarded the Reaching Communities grant, Odyssey has been developed over five years and evolved from purely a youth project to one that celebrates community inclusion for all ages, through intergeneration exchange and learning. Project Manager Karen Williams said, this is a fantastic opportunity to reach out and bring exciting innovative services into the heart of communities. The investment places young people at the centre of community developments and provides the resources to develop exciting activities in art, volunteering, play through local leadership and steering. We thank Big Lottery for their faith and commitment to the project and will work hard over the next five years to maximise the impact of this investment and realise the outcomes of this exciting project.
